Steam Engine Simulator is a highly detailed, physics-based simulation game that lets you operate and maintain a virtual, miniature steam engine. To run the engine successfully, you must manually balance several components:
The Boiler: You must light a fire, monitor the temperature probe, and build up internal pressure (PSI).
Water Management: You need to add water to maintain pressure, but the simulator requires the boiler pressure to be below 100 PSI to refill, which inherently cools down the system.
The Piston & Flywheel: Opening the throttle valve releases steam into the cylinder to push the piston. The engine can realistically suffer from “top dead center” alignment stalls, requiring a virtual helper motor to get it moving again.
